Courtship Signals – Gestures and Postures – 3

Another posture is the "exhibition", that is a sort of parade that the woman does, pulling back the shoulders, arching the back, holding her head up and exaggerating the movements of the hips, putting in evidence the points of greater sexual call and great indicators of fertility of her body, the breasts and the gluteus.

Among the postures we have to remember there is the "aid solicitation", when the woman, for instance, asks to light up a cigarette or to help her move a chair, and the "brush", that is when, with apparent casualness, the body of the woman comes briefly in contact with the man while, for example, she is walking.

The last two postures that we consider here are: the "play", that series of childish activities that a woman does when she is in presence of a person from which she is attracted, as for instance pinching or tickling the man.

The "solitary dance", a posture that happens when, in presence of music, the woman moves, even while she is seated, only some parts of her own body following the rhythm; the rest of the body remains still. This signal generally points out the woman’s wish to be invited to dance.

Among the postures, we also have to add the one called "approach". In this posture, the woman comes near to the person that interests her positioning herself at a distance of about two feet and waiting for the potential partner to begin the conversation. This nonverbal gesture is part of a field of studies denominated proxemics that deals with the study of interpersonal distances between individuals.
