Features Women Are Looking For In Partners
How can we recognize the “right persons”? The choice here involves 2 levels:
- The first one is the physical level

- The second one is the social level.
On the physical level, women prefer, for long relationships and marriage, males with facial traits that are not too strong, more feminine than masculine.
This is because feminine traits are associated with emotional security, loyalty, someone you can count on as opposed to men with strong traits that are usually perceived as abusers, full of themselves, violent and not good for a long-term relationship because they tend to change their partners frequently.
Other preferred physical features are regularity of traits, optimum height, good physique, optimal shoulders/waist ratio (broad shoulders, small waist).
On the social level, what women look for in a man is his status, his economic means and thus his ability to offer financial security for them and eventually for their offspring.
A social psychology research shows that, for long relationships that lead to marriage and procreation, women prefer men that are understanding, sweet and that give a sense of security while, for short relationships or one-night stands, they need men with strong characters, resolute, enterprising and reckless.
This is because in long relationships and procreation women need a partner that can emotionally and financially support them and that will not leave them when they are more fragile, when they give birth and immediately after.
In short relationships, where there is no need for the man to be present during conception to support his partner, women usually prefer men with strong traits so that these traits may be transmitted to the descendants.
In this last case, women know that their partners will not stay with them long enough to help them during and after their pregnancy.
This is due to the fact that men with this kind of characteristics generally adopt a short-term high return reproduction strategy that with the fertilization of many females try to maximize their chances to transmit their genes. However, women compensate for this absence with the chance to have babies with winning traits, those transmitted by their short relationship partners.
